The Dangers of Texting and Driving

CLM created this infographic to highlight the dangers of distracted driving. In 2023, cell phone use was a factor in 2,510 crashes in Illinois. This caused 15 deaths and 1,023 injuries. The risk of a crash increases whenever a driver picks up a phone while behind the wheel. Illinois law prohibits texting and handheld phone use while operating a vehicle, yet drivers continue to engage in these behaviors.
